Last week Austin-based singer-songwriter Tish Hinojosa released her new album After The Fair on Aug. 20 digitally and is promoting it today with an in-store performance at Waterloo Records. The in-store will begin at 5 p.m and is free to the public. Copies of After The Fair, which is Hinojosa’s fifteenth album, will be available for purchase. Refreshments provided by Shiner.

Produced and arranged by Moe Jaksch, After the The Fair is about Hinojosa’s time spent in Hamburg, Germany from 2004-2013. The album features the Paul McCartney song “A Certain Softness” (Me Captivo Con Su Mirar) translated into Spanish and the Woody Gutherie song “Deportee,” also translated into Spanish.

Hinojosa’s music blends elements of Mexican folk and country music with a modern singer-songwriter sensibility and touches of pop. Over the years Hinojosa has contributed her talent to numerous issues including bilingual education, immigration and farm workers’ rights.
