On Friday, July 5, Flamingo Cantina will play host to live sets from Cilantro Boombox and Afrofreque, two of Austin’s funkiest live bands with a global groove. While each have their own unique sound, the two compliment each other well. This mix of sounds should provide a good time for anyone in attendance.
Afrofreque is one Austin’s most prolific funk-fusion bands. Their music fuses elements of soul, reggae, funk, hip hop and Afrobeat. Their lyrics and message aim to be conscious while creative. Afrofreque is fronted by by MC Tigre Liu and features Claude McCann from Charanga Cakewalk and Los Bandidos Cosmicos.
