[6/6] Preview: Calle Seis at 1st Down and Stassney

Thursday, June 6, Calle Seis, one of Austin’s most versatile bands, will be performing at 1st Down and Stassney in South Austin. Considered by some to be a Tejano music “super group,” Calle Seis features Grammy Award-winning personnel who also perform with a few of the genre’s most popular and highly-regarded acts including Little Joe y La Familia, and Austin’s own Ruben Ramos and the Mexican Revolution.

But wait…there’s more! The seasoned virtuosos of Calle Seis play nearly everything at their shows, from Tejano to Funk to Salsa to R&B to Country…I think you get the idea. It’s not uncommon for other Tejano music stars to make surprise guest appearances at these shows as well, so you never really know who will show up.

As the name implies, 1st Down and Stassney is located on the northwest corner of Stassney and South First Street. The music starts at 9 p.m. and, as with almost every Calle Seis performance, there is no cover charge. 21+ are welcome. View the Facebook event here.
