The party continues after day of one of Pachanga Fest tonight at Scoot Inn. Two of Texas’ best Latin Alternative bands and DJ Villa (Manzanas Malas) provide the post-Pachanga soundtrack. Both scheduled bands compliment each other well and represent the new Latin fusion sound coming out of our fine state.
The show kicks off at 11 P.m. with Master Blaster Sound System. The group’s music combines elements of traditional Mexican rhythms with electronic and hip hop elements. With members based here in Austin and in Corpus Christi, the group is composed of familiar names from various Latin bands including Brian Ramos (Charanga Cakewalk, formerly of Grupo Fantasma), Cecy Treviño (formerly of La Conquista) and DJ Dus (Peligrosa).
At midnight Pachanga Fest performers Como Las Movies perform. A new name in Austin with familiar faces, the group is composed of former Maneja Beto members. After debuting to the public during Free Week in January, the group the next Latin up-and-comer in the Austin music scene. Their music incorporates elements of R&B, electro-funk, Caribbean music, and Tejano. Lots of keyboards, couple of laptops, traditional Latin percussion as well as electronic percussion.
