[10/25] Preview: ALMA Halloween Party at the Moose Lodge

halloween_mooseTonight the Austin Latino Music Association (ALMA) will present its 1st Annual Halloween Party and Dance at the Austin Moose Lodge. With costume contests and music from a full lineup of local favorites, it looks to be another great family-friendly evening at the Moose.

Fans are sure to get plenty of Tejano and Conjunto, and maybe even a little Rock n Roll and Country, from Los A-T Boyz, Los Texas Wranglers, Gilbert Alba, Lo Nuestro, Buena Compania, and Holly Peña y Los Jalapeños.

The mission of ALMA (meaning “soul” in English) is to increase knowledge and awareness in the community about local musicians and important historical figures in Austin’s Latino music scene, provide exposure and resources to local musicians, and to foster the development of young musicians who will keep Latino musical styles and traditions alive in the Capitol City.

Long story short: With a lineup with a little of something for everyone, a costume contest, the comfortable, family dancehall atmosphere of the Moose, this is a great event for the whole family and Tejano music fans in general.

The Moose Lodge is located at 2103 E.M. Franklin Avenue, north of MLK and east of Airport Boulevard in East Austin. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the cover is $10 per person all night long. All ages are welcome.  For more information, contact ALMA at 512-563-3697. Visit the Facebook event page here.
