Miami-based Latin fuison band Locos Por Juana (LPJ) have been celebrating the recent release of their fifth studio album, Somos De La Calle. The album captures the band’s mastery of blending elements of reggae, hip hop and traditional Latin rhythms. The already critically acclaimed album is what the guitarist Mark Kondrat calls “a new creative peak” for them musically. That says a lot considering LPJ have been nominated in the past for both a Grammy and a Latin Grammy. Along with Kondrat, LPJ is composed of Itagüí Correa (vocals) and Javier Delgado (drums). Also accompanying the group is Lasim Richards (trombone) and Carlos Palmet (percussion).
The second single from Somos De La Calle is “Revolution Ska (La Música),” which the band featured in a new music video. The video was shot in their hometown of Miami and was directed by Amaya Mendizabal, who makes her directorial debut. The video was sponsored by Tequila El Capo.
