The rising music scene in Monterrey, Mexico, was just the place for Kinky to emerge about a decade ago. They were new and different. They had an accordion and sombrero, but rocked out to electronic sounds. The quintet has been nominated for a Latin Grammy and has performed at the Latin Alternative Music Conference. Their music has also been featured on many commercials and video games.

With a couple of single out, Kinky continues to build anticipation for their soon to be released album Sueño de la Máquina out July 17 via Nacional Records. Their fifth album was produced and mixed by Dust Brother John King, known for his work with Beck, Rolling Stones and the Beastie Boys. The 10-track album was mastered by Howie Weinberg who has worked on Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Nirvana’s Nevermind and U2’s Pop.
