[9/1] Preview: Vallejo celebrates ‘Brothers Brew’ release at Antone’s

Austin-based modern rock icons Vallejo released their first new album in four years on August 21, Brothers Brew. The brothers Vallejo and company celebrated the release early in the week with a Waterloo Records in-store performance and are now giving Brothers Brew a proper release with a headlining show at Antone’s tonight. Vallejo performs at 11 p.m.

Austin-based Blessing & The Curse open tonight’s show. Formed by Alfredo Ramirez and Michael Gonzalez in 2010,  Blessing & The Curse bring their classic rock influenced sound to the show.  The group is currently performing in support of their EP, Just Like You. Blessing & The Curse perform at 9 p.m.

Filling the second slot on the bill is Austin-based rockers Podunk. The band formed in 1992 in Port Arthur, Texas.  Their style of hard rock is often compared to bands like The Black Crowes or Cracker. The band also gained popularity locally from rock radio station KLBJ’s Local Licks Live series and from nationwide airplay for their single “Wings.” Podunk performs at 10 p.m.

Antone’s is located at 213 West 5th Street. Doors open at 8 p.m. Show starts at 9 p.m. All ages are welcome. Advance tickets are on sale for this show here. Visit the event post on Facebook here and on Do512 here.
