If you’re a fan of loud, fearless experimental rock music, Los Angeles record label Sargent House has you covered from A to Z. In this case, it’s Northern Irish math-rockers And So I Watch You From Afar and El Paso prog-fusion quintet Zechs Marquise. They’re two of the label’s best live bands, and they’ll be making heads nod and ears ring Friday at Red 7.

This co-headlining tour sees And So I Watch You, or ASIWYFA, returning to Austin after playing to a packed Sixth Street club audience during South by Southwest back in March. The trio from Belfast plays a fast and heavy brand of instrumental post-rock that’ll make you pump your fist. But the band’s secret weapon is their reverence for rhythm, as the bass lines and percussion provide just enough subtle groove to balance out the crunchy and jagged guitars. Expect epic moments to ensue.

El Paso heroes Zechs Marquise are no strangers to Austin. This is the group’s fifth trip to the Live Music Capital in the past 12 months, including huge opening slots for a disbanding Rx Bandits and a reunited At The Drive-In. If you haven’t caught them yet, you have no excuse. The instrumental quintet plays a blistering, fiery blend of instrumental psych-rock and hip-hop-infused prog-rock that leaves Zechs virgins wanting more.

Cosmic noise-rock duo Zorch will open the show. The Austin band is opening the tour’s four Texas dates, after not having played live in a year.

Tickets are $12 and the show starts at 9 p.m. Red 7 is located at 611 E. 7th St. Get a preview of Zechs below. We filmed this video last year at Emo’s.
