This Saturday, Dec. 22, Texas Club Bar and Grill welcomes David Marez to the stage. Known as “La Voz de Oro,” the Mathis, Texas native brings his classic, soulful voice back to the Live Music Capital at the southeast Austin club.
From his earliest days with the legendary Royal Jesters, on through his solo career, Marez has earned the praise of fellow musicians and fans alike. With influences ranging from Little Joe and Joe Bravo to Ray Charles and Tony Bennett, Marez is a versatile performer, able to sing orquesta as well as R&B. His 1989 hit “Fijate” won a Tejano Music Award for Song of the Year, and has continued to remain on Tejano radio playlists and in the iPods of Tejano music lovers everywhere.
Long story short: Expect to hear one of the best voices in Tejano music belt out some classics and new recordings with his trademark passion, more than likely backed up by a top-notch band.
