[12/16] Preview: Tejano Celebration of Love at Graham Central Station

On Sunday, Dec. 16 at Graham Central Station in Pflugerville, a blockbuster lineup of Tejano performers will come together to support families in crisis this holiday season. Proceeds from the event will benefit Celebration of Love.

Since 2003, Celebration of Love has served families in central Texas by providing food and resources to help them overcome their struggles and get back on their feet. The organization’s initiatives include programs especially intended for military families, including Soldiers of America, Operation Pray Me Home, the Reaching Out Center food pantry, Welcome Home Soldier, and a Toys for Tots collaboration with the United States Marine Corps.

The schedule of performers is a who’s who of legendary and Grammy-winning Tejano superstars, along with up and coming groups. While the lineup may be subject to change without notice, bands currently scheduled to perform are:

Michael Salgado
Little Joe y La Familia
Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia
Grupo X (former members of La Mafia and Xcelencia)
Chente Barrera
Mike Torres III and the Grooveland Chicano Band
Gilbert Alba y Super City
Raulito Navaira
Cacy Savala
La Distancia

Long story short: Talk about getting the most bang for your buck! $10 per person is a steal for Little Joe, let alone for an entire show of this caliber. Tejano performers are known for their willingness to do benefits and serve their communities. This is just another example of that spirit in action. And it will be a phenomenal show.

Graham Central Station is located at 1719 Grand Avenue Parkway, just east of I-35 in Pflugerville. The event begins at 3 p.m., and the party is expected to last until 11 p.m. The cover charge is $10 per person, 18+ are welcome. View the Facebook event here.
