(12/22) Preview: Brownout & Greyhounds at Trinity Hall

Austin funk band Brownout is the funkier alter ego of Grupo Fantasma. Led by the musical mastermind of Adrian Quesada (Grupo Fantasma, Ocote Soul Sounds, The Echocentrics), Brownout has set itself apart from their Latin big brother and grown their popularity over the past few years. Producing not one, but two critically acclaimed full length albums probably helped with that. Their third album is currently in the works and due out in spring 2012 on Nat Geo Records.

Greyhounds are a two man band comprised of Andrew Rube and Anthony Farrell. Their music blends elements of soul, Americana, blues and rock. When not performing as Greyhounds,Rube and Farrell perform with JJ Grey & MOFRO helping out on keys and guitar. The duo are currently performing in support of their latest EP, Spring Training.

Brownout is playing their last show of the year with The Greyhounds at the newly opened Trinity Hall on Thursday, December 22. Trinity Hall, a 250+ capacity music venue, offers fans a rare treat to see their favorite bands in such an intimate setting. Their performance area is an upstairs bar with wood floors and a patio that overlooks the heart of 6th street. The venue was recently featured on Culture Map here.

Trinity Hall is located at 401 East 6th, at the intersect of 6th and Trinity Street. Doors open at 9:00pm. Cover is $7. Visit the official event page on Facebook here and on Do512 here.
