We are happy to announce the line up and details for our next Austin Vida showcase happening on Friday, Sept. 3. Always known for bringing you the best in Latin Music, Austin Vida is proud to present Bombasta, La Guerrilla, Jez and Arthur Yoria at Ruta Maya.

Headlining the showcase will be the “Barrio Big Band” from San Antonio, Bombasta. No stranger to Austin, Bombasta is a regular around town having performed numerous gigs at Flamingo Cantina and two Pachanga Festivals. Their style of Latin fusion blends elements of funk, cumbia, soul, rock and R&B that often draws comparisons to Ozomatli. All we know is, anytime Bombsta plays, it’s definitely a big barrio party.

The night’s co-headliner is an Austin Vida staff favorite, La Guerrilla. One of the up and coming buzz bands in the Austin Latin music scene in 2009, La Guerrilla is now a blogger favorite in the mainstream indie music scene. The group incorporates elements of traditional South American sounds, gypsy punk, ska and everything in between it seems. La Guerrilla’s cross over appeal amongst music fans from all backgrounds is only one reason why they are so hot right now. Their high energy live show is the other.

The show’s openers include some serious talent out of Houston that now call Austin home. JEZ broke into the Austin scene this summer at Momo’s World Music Night series and has already been featured on Fox 7. JEZ’s contemporary modern rock en EspaƱol is some of the best we have heard in Austin in a long time.

Arthur Yoria is one of the most talented singer-song writers we have come across. Yoria made his name in Austin venues like Momo’s, Mi Casa and Ruta Maya. Yoria’s unique bilingual lyrics are as raunchy at times as they are poetic. His one man band set is quite the opener for any bill, so early arrival is highly recommended.

Show starts at 9 p.m. with Arthur Yoria. All ages are welcome. $7 cover for minors, $5 for 21 and up. More information on the bands, free MP3s and your chance to win free admission coming soon. Be sure to RSVP on the Facebook Event page here.
