The University of Texas Department of Theatre & Dance presents ‘Roots and Wings’

The University of Texas Department of Theatre and Dance will be presenting a collection of re-staged dance works by renowned choreographers—Paul Taylor, David Justin, Yacov Sharir and Charles O. Anderson—from April 19 to the 21 at the B. Iden Payne Theatre on the University of Texas campus.

The headlining performance is The Uncommitted, which is a new and 134th work by Paul Taylor, and the University’s company will be the first company apart from the Paul Taylor company to perform this piece. Other works in this collection include, Solemn Opus: The Journey of Lost and Found by David Justin, which was performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. among others, Yacov Shair’s new work 3D [Embodied] which shows as a virtual space becomes a habitable architectural space where physical humans seamlessly appear and disappear, and Turning It by Charles O. Anderson and David Justin.

Performance times are April 19, 20 8:00 p.m. and April 20, 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the B. Iden Payne Theatre located on 300 E. 23rd St. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for UT faculty & staff, $15 for students.
