Latinitas’ Summer Camp registration is open

Registration is now open for the Latinitas’ Summer Camp. This year, the themes are Media is POWER, Cine Chica Camp, and Fashion Forward camp.

The Cine Chica Camp will be held July 8 to 12 at El Buen Samaritano and will help girls learn about independent filmaking, publishing and music as well as how to promote their talent. Their works will be published on

The Fashion Forward Camp will be held July 15 to 19at the Latinitas headquarters. Here, girls will learn how to write for the fashion industry, fashion photography and video, as well as reviews while creating a fashion magazine.

Camp is open to girls ages 9-18. There are three ways to register: over the phone at 512-861-0592, emailing Latinitas at [email protected], or online through Ticketbud. Price for camp is $200. Snacks and drinks will be provided, but lunch must be brought. There are scholarships available. All camps run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Latinitas is a non-profit webzine with the aim of empowering young Latinas through media and technology programs, along with summer camps and after-school programs. Latinitas has spread to over 10 Texas cities and has served more than 20,000 girls since their start 10 years ago.
